SAULT STE. MARIE -- Before Tuesday, if you wanted a COVID-19 test in the Sault, the wait time at the Assessment Centre was at least three days. That has all changed with the opening of a new walk-in testing centre.
Located in the west end, the new walk in centre had a lineup around the building when doors opened at 9 a.m. The wait time wasn't bad, as the line moved rather quickly. People said they were in and out in less than 40 minutes.
The new testing centre is a collaborative effort with the Westend Walk-In Clinic and the Sault Ste. Marie COVID-19 Assessment Centre.
