An employee of a store located on Falconbridge Road in the Garson community of Greater Sudbury contacted police after witnessing a man recording young women with a cellphone without their knowledge or consent.

Police executed a search warrant last Friday at a home, also located in Garson, and seized the man’s cellphone containing multiple videos as described that were taken in September and October of this year inside various stores in Greater Sudbury.

As a result, the 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged with Voyeurism.

His name will not be released at this time in order to ensure unbiased witness statements and to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Police say there is no evidence to suggest that anyone was followed out of a store and that no recordings happened in any private areas, such as a change room.

The man is described as being Caucasian, 5’10” tall, 160 lbs with an average build, short dark brown hair and a trimmed brown beard with grey spots.

Based on video surveillance footage and video located on the man’s phone, there are several potential victims whose identities are not known at this time.

Anyone who feels that they may have experienced this type of behaviour or witnessed this type of activity is encouraged to contact Detective Constable Cameron Kidder with Sudbury Police Service at 705-675-9171 extension 2307.
