A new ride sharing app is now available in Greater Sudbury.

The service, called Uride, originated in Thunder Bay and has expanded to Sudbury and Chatman - Kent as well.

Its founder, Cody Ruberto, says his main goal for the service is to get everyone home safely and prevent drinking and driving.

Uride is available 24 hours a day to help people that have been impaired arrive home safely, with service around Greater Sudbury, including Copper Cliff, Chelmsford, Hanmer and Lively.

After you download the app, and request a driver, you will receive a ride to wherever your destination is in less than fifteen minutes.

The smartphone app allows users to enter their pick up and drop off locations to calculate an estimated cost.
