Ontario Provincial Police say a serious collision on Highway 17 west of Sudbury resulted in a fatality Wednesday night.
OPP officers from the Manitoulin detachment along with Emergency Medical Services responded to a two-vehicle crash in Nairn-Hyman Township, east of Nairn Centre at 6:20 pm Wednesday evening.
Due to the severity of the incident, the road was closed between Regional Road 55 and McDonald Street in Nairn Centre for several hours and has since been reopened.
The name of the deceased is not being released pending notification of the next of kin.
