A 39-year-old North Bay man is in custody after he allegedly assaulted an officer at the police station.

Police say the man had called police several times before 8 pm and was upset with the handling of a situation. 

An hour later, police say the accused walked into the station in an aggressive manner.

He was arrested for causing a disturbance, then allegedly tried to resist by pulling away and refusing to comply with officers.

Police say the man grabbed one officer, pulling him to the ground, causing an injury that needed medical attention.

He faces a slew of charges including: making harassing phone calls, causing a disturbance, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer causing bodily harm.

The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
