The Ontario Provincial Police have released the names of the victims killed in Monday afternoon's crash on Highway 17 west of Sudbury.
Police say it happened at approximately 1:39 pm June 3, between Nairn Centre and Espanola, when two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision.
The driver of the westbound vehicle, 75-year-old Jacque Dandenault, and the passenger, 73-year-old Pierette Dandenault, both of Kapuskasing, were pronounced dead at the scene.
18-year-old Tyler Carter, the driver of the eastbound vehicle, from Walden, was also pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say a 44-year-old passenger in Carter’s vehicle was the only survivor in the crash and was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Highway 17 was closed in both directions for approximately six hours after the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
