Teen charged after another stabbing on Elm Street in downtown Sudbury
A 16-year-old male is being held in custody after a verbal argument escalated into another stabbing in downtown Sudbury, the second this week on Elm Street.
Officers were called to the scene just before 6:20 p.m. and found the victim with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police didn't say where on Elm Street the stabbing happened.
The victim was taken by paramedics to hospital and treated for their injuries.
"Information provided was that an individual has been stabbed after a brief verbal and physical altercation," Greater Sudbury Police Service said in a news release Thursday morning.
"The suspect fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival."
Patrol officers found the accused just after 6:30 p.m. on Elgin Street.

"He was arrested without incident and transported to police headquarters where he remained overnight," police said.
Charges include aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and having a dangerous weapon.
He is scheduled to appear in bail court Thursday.
It is unclear if the suspect and victim knew each other.
Third stabbing this week
A 22-year-old man turned himself in to police Tuesday afternoon following an attack on the weekend.
The suspect in that case is accused of bear spraying and stabbing a victim at the intersection of Elm Street and Elgin Street.
On Wednesday, a 40-year-old Sudbury man was arrested after a stabbing in the Richard Lake area in the South End of the city Tuesday night.
