SUDBURY -- The man wanted on second-degree murder charges in Sudbury has been arrested by police in Toronto.
The suspect, Douglas Jeffries, 32, was taken into custody Friday afternoon.
"We received information that (Jeffries) had traveled to Toronto in order to evade police," Greater Sudbury Police said in a news release Friday. "This morning, information related to the ongoing investigation and the arrest warrant were provided to the Toronto Police Service and this afternoon, Douglas Jeffries was located and arrested for second degree murder."
He will be taken back to Sudbury to attend bail court Saturday.
"Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the man whose life was taken as a result of this violent attack," police said. "We would like to thank the public and Toronto Police Service for the assistance with this matter."
