Sudbury man charged with drug, weapons offences in North Bay

A 27-year-old man has been charged with drug and weapons offences following his arrest in North Bay.

Police seized more than $18,000 in drugs, including fentanyl and cocaine in the Nov. 21 arrest in the area of O’Brien Street and Cassells Street.

A switchblade knife was also seized along with cash. (North Bay police photo)

"Members of the North Bay Police arrested the accused on an outstanding warrant," police said in a news release Tuesday.

"A search incident to arrest located illegal narcotics and a prohibited weapon, leading to additional charges."

Police seized drugs suspected to be 32 grams of fentanyl, 11.5 grams of cocaine, seven 15 mg tablets of morphine and 17 30 mg tablets of morphine.

A switchblade knife was also seized along with cash.

The Sudbury suspect was charged with numerous drug trafficking and weapons charges, as well as one count of failing to comply with a release order.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
