Report of someone in with a firearm on Queen Street in the Sault

Members of the public are being asked to avoid the 2100 block of Queen Street East in Sault Ste. Marie on Friday.

There is currently a heavy police presence in the area.

"911 communicators received reports of someone in the area with a firearm," police said.

"Officers are securing the area and investigating the report. Sault Police urge community members to find alternate routes if travelling in the area."
