Northern Ont. neighbour grabbed a gun, threatened to shoot dogs

A neighbour dispute escalated to threats to shoot dogs, leading to police being called to a residence in Goulais River, Ont.

The incident took place Nov. 8. Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police responded at 11:17 p.m. to a weapons occurrence on Robertson Lake Road.

"The complainant reported that their neighbour had threatened to shoot their dogs, then had approached them with a firearm," police said in a news release Friday.

A 31-year-old, who was already under release conditions, is charged with threatening to injure animals, weapons possession, unauthorized possession of a firearm and failing to comply with a release order.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.
