Power outage affects 5,000 customers on Manitoulin Island Thursday evening
While the cause is still not known, 5,031 Hydro One customers on Manitoulin Island were without power Thursday evening.
Hydro One estimated power would be restored around 9 p.m.
According to the utility's outage map, the outage extends from Bass Creek and Bass Lake to Tolsmaville.
Evening temperatures in the area are hovering around -8 C.

As of Friday morning, more than 200 customers are without power in the Sheguindah area of the island, according to the Hydro One outage map at 8:30 a.m.
