Police search for federal offender with ties to Thunder Bay

The repeat offender parole enforcement (ROPE) squad is asking for the public's help to find a federal offender wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for breaching his statutory release.

John Francis Curtin, 69, is a Caucasian male, who is 5-foot-10 and weighs 150 pounds. Curtin has long grey/brown hair and hazel eyes and usually has a grey beard. He also has a noticeable scar on his nose.

He was serving a five-year, one-month and 20-day sentence for several offences, including armed robbery, break and enter, using a forged document and impaired driving.

"The offender is known to frequent Hamilton, Brantford, Toronto, Thunder Bay … as well as Edmonton, Alta., and Winnipeg, Man.," Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Monday.
