Update:

OPP Constable Michelle Coulombe tells CTV News that the victim was swimming at the time of the incident.

"This tragedy, like many others, could have absolutely been prevented by wearing a life jacket or PFD," said Coloumbe. "As this incident is under investigation by the coroner's office, we cannot comment if alcohol was involved or not."

Ontario Provincial Police have identified the victim in a drowning incident in Dokis First Nation, near French River, over the weekend.

Police say they were called to scene of a drowning on Saturday, August 3 around 12:25 am. They say it happened in the Restoule River, off Keso Bay Road.

27-year-old Brendan Loonskin from Toronto was pronounced dead at the scene.

The OPP has finished their investigation and say foul play is not suspected.
