Two truck drivers killed in collision on Hwy. 17 near Kenora

Two commercial motor vehicle drivers were killed Monday morning in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 17 near Kenora.

All three vehicles involved were CMVs, Ontario Provincial Police said.

Kenora OPP, along with Kenora Fire Service and Northwest Emergency Medical Services responded around 9 a.m. to Highway 17A between Beryl Winder Road and Highway 596.

"As a result, two drivers of separate CMVs were pronounced deceased at the scene," police said in a news release.

"A third driver of a CMV, remained at the scene, reporting only minor injuries."

Highway 17A has been closed for several hours for the investigation of the tragedy. Police encourage anyone with information on what happened to contact the Kenora OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
