SUDBURY -- OPP in North Bay are looking into numerous complaints of commercial motor vehicles carrying logs in the area. The complaints included: unsafe loads, collisions and fail to share roadway. On Mar. 2, officers located several 8 foot oversized maple logs, on and near the road, on Highway 63.
The OPP has initiated a focused patrol and investigation in conjunction with the Ministry of Transportation. The goal is to increase awareness and ensure highway safety for everyone using area roads.
"These offences are concerning for police as they pose a significant risk to public safety," said Staff Sergeant Bill McMullen, Detachment Commander of the North Bay OPP.
