Jury selected in trial of woman charged in stabbing death of elderly Sudbury man
The second-degree murder trial began Tuesday at the Sudbury Courthouse for Felicity Altiman, 43, who is charged in a fatal stabbing that took place almost four years ago.
The body of Robert Keskinen, 75, was discovered on Boxing Day 2020 in his Kathleen Street apartment.
Altiman was arrested in connection with Keskinen's stabbing death Jan. 7, 2021. She has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The jury was chosen Tuesday out of a pool of 65. Six men, six woman and two alternates will listen to the evidence in the case and decide Altiman’s fate.
Opening statements are expected Wednesday from Crown attorneys Kaely Whillans and Brittany Butler, as well as defence counsel Steven Hinkson. The Crown has a list of more than a dozen witnesses.
Altiman’s trial is estimated to take four weeks. Justice Dan is Cornell presiding over the case.
