Police say a number of watches were stolen from a jewellery store on Paris Street in Sudbury during a robbery on Saturday.

Authorities say a man wearing a vest with ‘Police’ written on the front, entered Lucy's Fire Jewellery just before 3:30 in the afternoon, armed with what is believed to be a stun gun, and demanded the watches from an employee.

Lucy, the owner was confronted by the man, impersonating a cop, who tried to trick her to leave the store, at first connecting it to a power outage that was affecting the plaza.

He then told her to fill a bag that he had brought with loot.

When Lucy said she wouldn't fill the bag, he smashed two display cases and made off with several watches.

The suspect escaped on foot and police say no one was injured in the incident.

She says the incident has left her shaken up and that someone helped her clean up the glass on Sunday.

He is described as six feet tall with a slim build, last seen wearing aviator style sunglasses, black pants, black boots, and a black cap.

A police investigation is underway.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 705-675-9171 or Crime Stoppers at 705-222-TIPS.
