Hearst, Ont., resident wins $103,619 Lotto 6/49 prize
André Doucet of Hearst won $103,619.70 in the Oct. 23 Lotto 6/49 draw.
Doucet, a millwright, has been playing the lottery with OLG for 20 years, selecting his own numbers when playing Lotto 6/49. The father of four is thrilled to share the news of his second-prize win.
"I was at the store using the ticket checker to see the outcome of my ticket," he said in an OLG news release Monday.
"I didn’t have my glasses on and thought I saw a prize of $100 on the screen … I took my ticket to the clerk, and she confirmed that I’d won much more."
"I was so happy and immediately called my wife. She thought I was calling to say they were out of burgers," Doucet added.
"I asked her to come to the store right away and shared the news that I had won a big prize on my ticket. She thought I was joking because I’m always kidding around, but she still made the drive. She couldn’t believe it was true."
