Police charged four people, including two suspects from southern Ontario, in a raid on a Manitoulin Island apartment where they found 148 grams of cocaine.

The UCCM Anishnaabe Police said they received information this month about drug trafficking in M'Chigeeng First Nation.

"A search warrant was obtained for the residence at Apartment #2 – 726A Highway 551," police said in a news release Friday morning.

With the help of the Ontario Provincial Police community street crime unit, investigators searched the unit and found nearly $15,000 in cocaine and almost $25,000 in cash.

The four people inside the residence at the time, including a 48-year-old local woman and a 55-year-old local man, were arrested without incident.

All four suspects are charged with drug trafficking and possessing property obtained by crime.

A 33-year-old from Brampton and a 24-year-old from Oshawa are charged with failing to comply with a release order.
