There's new information from Timmins police on an attempted murder case that happened on the weekend.

Police say they've laid numerous charges against three local people in connection with a man being shot and seriously wounded at a residence on Way Avenue early Sunday morning.

The 23-year-old victim remains in hospital with gunshot wound injuries.

Now, two men in their 30s and a 24-year-old woman have been charged with attempted murder, as well as a whole list of firearms related offences each.

One of the men charged was the object of a long standoff with police that started Sunday night and ended Monday with his arrest. The other two were also arrested on Monday.

Officials say all three suspects are well known to police.
