Sudbury police are finally releasing some details regarding the heavy police presence and arrest made in New Sudbury early Thursday morning.
Kaitlyn Dunn is the corporate communications coordinator for Greater Sudbury Police Service.
She tells CTV News that the incident that took place at the gas station on Barrydowne and Lasalle was part of a large drug trafficking investigation involving several biker gangs.
"The Greater Sudbury Police Service was part of a joint-forces operation working in collaboration with the Ontario Provincial Police Biker Enforcement Unit (BEU), the Niagara Police Service, and the Ottawa Police Service. The multi-jurisdictional investigation related to drug trafficking involving the Hells Angels Nomads, Red Devils Motorcycle Club and the Hooligans Motorcycle Club resulting in numerous Search Warrants being executed and arrests being made in our community and in other jurisdictions. In order to maintain the integrity of the investigation, we cannot provide further information at this time however we will be providing complete details to our Media partners in the near future," said Dunn.
She says the OPP will be providing a full news release.

CTV News has learned that there was a heavy police presence early Thursday morning in Sudbury, as police arrested a person in what they call a 'multi-jurisdictional operation.'
Police say it happened at the Petro Canada gas station on the corner of Barrydowne Road and Lasalle Boulevard in the city's New Sudbury neighbourhood around 6 am.
Witnesses say about 20 police officers were involved and one man was arrested.
At this time, Greater Sudbury Police Service will only say it was a joint investigation involving numerous police agencies.
