A Sudbury-based theatre company that specializes in comedic murder mystery shows is taking on a beloved holiday classic this month.

Murder By Appointment is in its 30th season and is putting on Grinched – A Yuledie Mystery on Nov. 29 and 30 at Cambrian College's Student Life Centre.

The dinner theatre includes an audience-interactive show and roast "beast" buffet dinner.

It features several Grinch-inspired characters, including a female version of the notoriously grumpy green creature played by the company's founder Amber Hicks.

"Ms. Grinched, the recently elected mayor of Greater City of Whosewhoville – which now includes the North Pole – is holding her first potluck town hall meeting since taking office where it's rumoured she'll announce plans to cancel Christmas," the show's poster said.

"When the meeting takes a sinister turn and Whosewhoville sees its very first murder, it's up to you to solve this Seussian mystery."

The script for the Dr. Seuss spoof was written by Hicks and actor Rodney Roy.
