Sudbury family wins $567,758 in HSN's 50/50 draw
A Chelmsford family is $567,758 richer after they won the September HSN 50/50 draw.
Laura Dupuis, Gary Dupuis, Paul Pitre, Donna Pitre, Bryan Pitre and Sue Tremblay will share in the jackpot.
In a news release Friday, Laura said they have been buying tickets as a family since the start of the draw.
“I usually buy one set for the family and another set for work,” she said in the release.
"We believe in the good this draw is doing for HSN and just never saw ourselves winning it.”
“It’s just so surreal thinking about what we could do with our winnings," she added.
“I think we’ll pay bills, help our kids and find the best way to give back to our community.”
The family explained they are normally excited about winning over two dollars on other lotteries.
Anthony Keating, president and chief development officer of foundations and volunteer groups at HSN, said it is amazing to see the jackpot prize steadily rise with each draw.
“We are thrilled that each of them will be able to make some dreams come true with their winnings,” Keating said.
“We are also grateful that the 50/50 continues to support patient care through the priority needs of Health Sciences North … we thank our community and beyond for the continued support of the HSN 50/50.”
Keating explains the funds raised will make a difference in the lives of those living with cancer, how the tiniest patients receive specialized pediatric care and ensuring equipment is in place when needed.
The October HSN 50/50 draw is live at www.hsn5050.ca and features multiple cash draws throughout the month, including a $10,000 early bird prize on Oct. 10.
The October jackpot is already more than $90,000. Click here for more information.
Tickets for the October draw are available to purchase right now, with sales ending at 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 31. The jackpot-winning ticket will be drawn Nov. 1 at 10 a.m.
