The forecast is calling for some light rain on Sunday.

According to the latest update from the municipality, they aren’t expecting any further discharges from the French River dams (although that’s determined on a daily basis).

Local politicians declared the state of emergency earlier this week after water rose to historic levels, 40 centimetres higher than ever recorded.

They’re still urging residents to be prepared to take precautionary measures to protect their homes.

Those who live in the following areas are said to be at risk of increased flooding:

  • Wolseley Bay area (Highway 528, Highway 528A, Ash Bay Road, Green Bay Road)
  • Ranger Bay area (Brousseau, Leger, Turenne, Jean, Gilbert, Lise, Voyageur, etc.)
  • Dry Pine Bay area (Bakers’ Bay, Whippoorwill, Dry Pine, Cowbay, Highway 607, Highway 607A, etc.)

CTV caught some aerial footage of flooding in the Dry Pine Bay early Friday morning.

Sandbags are being made available at Alban Community Centre, the Public Works Yard in Noelville and the French River Visitors Centre.

The municipality says it’s aware some roads are under water, residents have been asked to be cautious when traversing saturated roads.

Boaters are also being asked to slow down on water ways and to secure their docks.
