People in French River, south of Sudbury, continue to battle flooding.
While water levels appear to have stabilized, some, including a well-known local business, are still facing devastating conditions.
The French River Supply Post goes back nearly a century, and the current owners have had it as their family business for the last 65 years.
Right now, the local flooding has left them devastated.
"We're about six inches in the store, in the shop. Everything's under water. So, we can't really work there anymore. We're working out of the house, up on top. We're just doing what we can to get ready for the season." said Claude Lacasse, owner of French River Supply Post.
Water levels began rising there nearly a week ago.
The family had to purchase a special vehicle in order to transport people from the parking lot to the marina and shop, and only those with rubber boots are able to make the trip.
"It really hurts, because we're not sure what's going to happen. If we are going to have to rebuild or, we're not sure. We're going to have to figure it out.” said Lacasse.
French River Mayor Giselle Pageau says the flooding has been pretty devastating to the community.
"There's a heritage building there that's in jeopardy. They will have to, well not just them, but everybody in the community that has been affected, will have to come together and figure out a plan and see how they can recover from this. But at this point, it's pretty serious." said Pageau.
Dozens of volunteers have been spending their days filling sandbags and even delivering them to elderly residents.
And some local businesses have even donated any useful equipment.
As for the Lacasse family, they say their clients are everything to them.
"We have, our clients are good people. We have probably the best clients, so we'd probably rebuild." said Lacasse.
The mayor tells CTV News that she's hopeful Mother Nature provides more days just like Wednesday with the nice, dry weather.
She says the main concern is the winds, because if they get over a certain threshold in the Nipissing area, more water in French River will have to be released.
