Emergency crews were called to a three-vehicle crash on one of Sudbury’s main traffic arteries Monday afternoon.

It happened around 2 pm on Monday on Lasalle Boulevard near the Montrose Mall.

Four people from two of the vehicles had to be extricated by first responders.

Both drivers, one of which is a 64-year-old man, are reportedly in stable condition in hospital.

The third vehicle involved had no serious injuries and was treated on scene.

Lasalle Blvd. is closed from Montrose Avenue to Rideau Street for an undetermined amount of time. Police are rerouting traffic through Grandview, Rideau Street and Lavoie Street.

For parents and guardians picking students up from Felix Ricard, an officer is on the scene to assist with traffic flow.

Police say to avoid the area if possible.
