SUDBURY -- John and Angeline Lumsden recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and grandchildren standing outside Angeline's window at St. Joseph's in Sudbury.
The couple has been separated after she went into the hospital before Christmas last year due to some recent health issues.
Their daughter, Sylvie McKee, told CTV that her father still lives in the couple's Val Caron home, but her mother has been in St. Joseph's since before Christmas 2019 because of a leg infection related to diabetes, and she has suffered a few mild heard attacks.
"Then COVID-19 came," McKee said. "She has been transferred to St. Joseph s for rehabilitating for her leg and hoping to be back home with her husband by her 85th birthday, which is Nov. 26. She is the strongest person we know and miss her and love her so."
McKee and her husband live in Timmins, while the couple's other five children live in Sudbury.
"Together they share the love of 25 grandkids and one on the way," McKee said. "(Plus) 21 great-grandkids and another on the way."
The couple also has one great grandchild and another is on the way, she added.
McKee produced a video to honour her parents and highlight the 50th celebration.
