Adding Encore to a few free plays in the Ontario 49 lottery turned out to be very lucky for a PSW from Timmins.

Katelin Krysko of Porcupine was on her way to a music festival with her daughter this summer when they made a quick pit stop at the Esso gas station on Highway 11 in Matheson.

Katelin Krysko of Porcupine won $100K in lottery (Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp.)

Krysko checked her lottery tickets and won a few free tickets for the Aug. 10 Ontario 49 draw to which she added the Encore game to.

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. It turns out she matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order winning $100,000.

Later that week she discovered her big win when checking her ticket through the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. app.

"When I saw the prize amount, I shouted, 'Oh my gosh,'" Krysko told lottery officials in Toronto when she picked up her prize.

"After having my ticket checked at the store, I told my mom the good news. The tears started to flow we shared a hug," she said.

"I’ve had some rough times recently and winning came with a sense of relief."

Krysko said she wants to use her winnings wisely.

"When I first discovered my win, I immediately started imagining all the things I could do with the money, but I decided to take my time and think it over," she said.

"I plan to invest and set some aside for my children’s education. I will also help my parents and take a nice holiday in Jamaica."
