Police in Timmins said the investigation into a Dec. 13 shooting on Third Avenue continues, with the examination of several videos of the incident collected from various sources.

"The investigation thus far has revealed that two individuals became involved in a confrontation on Third Avenue," police said Monday.

"As the confrontation continued, it escalated to the point where at least one firearm was brandished and several shots were fired. As a result, one person sustained a non-life-threatening injury and attended the hospital on their own."

Police said the pair are known to one another and "the incident was not a result of a random act of violence. The motivation behind the altercation has yet to be determined."

Anyone with information that could help with the investigation is asked to contact the police at 705-264-1201 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).

"Further media releases to follow once the investigation progresses and more information becomes available," police said.
