SUDBURY -- Porcupine Health Unit (PHU) reported one new COVID-19 infection among residents in the area along with one resolved case Wednesday morning.
No details about the age, gender, resident's location or exposure were given.
"This individual became infected and was tested on Sept. 14 and remains in self-isolation outside the PHU region," said the health unit in a news release. "Following provincial protocol, cases are reported and attributed to the health unit they reside in permanently."
This new case marks the 77th positive case confirmed in the PHU service area, which includes Timmins, Cochrane, Hearst, Hornepayne, Iroquouis Falls, Matheson, Smooth Rock Falls, and the James and Hudson Bay region.
As of Wednesday morning, there are three active cases among residents in the PHU region and there have been nine COVID-related deaths.
