Winter travel advisory in effect for Timmins
Areas in and around Timmins and Iroquois Falls are under a winter weather travel advisory on Monday.
A similar advisory for Greater Sudbury ended early Monday evening.
Environment Canada said snowfall amounts up to 10 cm are expected with reduced visibility at times in heavy snow.
“Rain mixed with snow is expected to transition to mainly snow this morning and fall heavily at times today,” the advisory said.
“Snow will taper off this afternoon. Isolated power outages are possible due to the heavy, wet nature of this snow.”
Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
“Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions,” Environment Canada said.
Up-to-date road conditions can be found at Ontario 511. To report severe weather, send an email,
