SUDBURY -- A northeastern Ontario musician is making waves in the country music scene.
North Bay's Cory Marks' new hit song "Outlaws & Outsiders" is currently trending in the number one spot on iTunes in Canada.
The song is a collaboration featuring other noted musicians such as Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars and country legend Travis Tritt.
"Outlaws & Outsiders" has also reached the number six country song spot in the United States and it's the number one rock song for digital downloads and sales south of the border.
"It's a pretty amazing feeling. I think as an artist, it's what my music is all about and having the fans connect with the music and being able to connect with the fans. It's been a struggle to get on Canadian country radio and I hope this helps. The people have spoken. It's number one in Canada, you can't argue that. Those are downloads and streams, so I'm just really thankful," said Marks.
Marks is also hitting the road for a cross-Canada tour with Gord Bamford in the New Year.
