NORTH BAY -- As a gesture of appreciation for health care workers and essential workers in Northern Ontario, people in North Bay were out making noise and showing their support.

Families were out banging pots, drums and garbage cans.

They were cheering their hearts out in support of the health care workers at the local health unit, the hospital and all other essential places of work.

The noisy event sees people taking to their apartment balconies, front porches or front yards to clap, cheer, and bang pots in support of those on the front lines of the COVID-19 fight.

This trend has been growing in popularity throughout Canada and around the world, as the coronavirus pandemic continues.
