SUDBURY -- The 30-year-old North Bay man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl at a beach and performing indecent acts was also involved in another incident downtown three days prior, police say.
North Bay police said the same man who was arrested after he touched a young female inappropriately on Monday at the city's waterfront area, flashed a group of adults, and was seen masturbating in a nearby treed area, has been charged for indecent behaviour and harassment in connection with an another incident that happened on Friday.
John Schultz, the community safety coordinator for North Bay Police Service, tells CTV News that while the accused was in custody after being arrested on July 27 for what happened at Lake Nipissing, additional charges were laid.
"Evidence on the investigation from the 24th became available on the 28th," said Schultz.
On the afternoon of July 24, the man allegedly approached three women in a parking lot on McIntyre Street West while fondling himself with his hands down his pants and trying to engage them in conversation, police said in a news release on Wednesday.
He now faces the following charges in connection to the two incidents:
- Two counts of indecent act
- Three counts of harassment
- Sexual assault
As of July 31, the accused remains in custody.
None of the allegations has been proven in court.
