A motorcyclist is left with serious, life-altering injuries after a crash on Highway 11 in northern Ontario on Wednesday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of a single-vehicle collision in Temagami  -- just under 100 kilometres north of North Bay -- around 9:40 a.m. Oct. 2, Ontario Provincial Police said Friday in a social media post.

The motorcycle driver was transported to hospital.

Police have not given details on the cause of the crash and are continuing the investigation.

"The OPP is requesting that anyone travelling through the area at that time with dash cam footage or information is asked to call 1-888-310-1122 and reference #E241318528," police said.

Highway 11 was closed for four hours between North Bay and Cobalt following the crash, OPP said.

Members of the Temagami fire department, Nipissing District paramedics and the OPP traffic management and enforcement unit responded to the scene.
