SUDBURY -- Another one day strike by high school teachers and some other support workers is coming Jan. 15, and it will affect several school boards in northern Ontario, including Sudbury and Timmins.

The Rainbow District School Board in Sudbury says it's cancelling all classes for grades 9 to 12 next Wednesday.

Also affected are District School Board Ontario Northeast, which includes Timmins and much of the north, and Grandes Rivieres French Catholic Board, which includes 27 elementary and eight high schools.

The catholic board in the Sudbury area also has some education support staff at various schools who belong to the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation, who will withdraw their services as well.

The French catholic board in Sudbury and area is also cancelling classes Wednesday as it also has some education support staff at various schools who belong to the OSSTF.

The is a fifth planned strike action by teachers in the province.

This past Wednesday, high school teachers and other education workers in Sault Ste. Marie were off the job for the day.
