SUDBURY -- Three young men and a young woman from Hamilton are in custody in North Bay after a combined operation by North Bay police and Ontario Provincial Police's organized crime specialists.
The arrests, dubbed by police as Project Drifter, included a seizure of drugs, guns and cash, police said.
Investigators converged Nov. 10 at a residence on Clarence Street in North Bay.
"Three accused were located in a Lexus SUV and the fourth accused … was located on foot in the area," police said in a news release Thursday.
Items seized in the raid include 110.2 grams of suspected fentanyl, 6.5 grams of suspected cocaine, $7,911.15 in cash, a loaded Colt .45 calibre handgun and a loaded Glock 9mm handgun.
"One loaded handgun was recovered from the vehicle and the second loaded handgun was seized in relation to a duffel bag belonging to (one of) the accused," police said. "The estimated street value of the drugs is approximately $34,310."
A 2019 Lexus SUV was also seized by police. The four suspects – the men are ages 18, 20 and 21, while the woman is 19 -- are facing dozens of charges related to drug trafficking, drug possession, illegal weapons possession and possession of stolen property.
All four accused remain in custody pending a bail hearings at the North Bay Courthouse.
