SUDBURY -- Environment Canada has cancelled the snowfall warnings for the North Bay area Friday.

SUDBURY -- School buses have been cancelled for many students around northern Ontario and some areas remain under snow fall warning Friday, November 1.
The Sudbury Student Services Consortium cancelled only the morning buses in Sudbury, Espanola, Massey, and Manitoulin Island Districts. School buses in those areas will run in the afternoon.
While the morning buses were cancelled, schools will remain open.
The consortium says some students that live in rural areas may require an alternate drop off in the afternoon.
North Bay & area
The Nipissing – Parry Sound Student Transportation Services has completely cancelled school buses due to icy road condition and blowing snow.
Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for:
- North Bay – Powassan – Mattawa
- West Nipissing – French River
- Kirkland Lake – Englehart
- Temiskaming Shores – Temagami
As now continues to fall Friday morning in these areas, an additional two to five cm is expected before tapering off.
Strong wind gusts of 60 to 70 km/h are also expected and could reduce visibility.
Motorists are cautioned to be prepared for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
Sault Ste. Marie & area
School buses are running as usual, no cancellations.
However, a special weather statement has been issued by Environment Canada Friday for:
- Agawa – Lake Superior Park
- Sault Ste. Marie – St. Joseph Island
- Searchmont – Montreal River Harbour – Batchawana Bay
- Wawa – Pukaskwa Park
Significant snowfall is expected in the evening and into Saturday morning.
Total snowfall of five to 10 cm are possible, with more in the higher elevations.
Timmins & area
School buses are running as usual, no cancellations.
