There's growing concern in Timmins when it comes to overdose related deaths.
Three people have died since Wednesday, the most recent is a 46-year old woman was found dead, and police say there was evidence of illicit drug use.
It comes as officers also raided a home and arrested a number of people on trafficking charges.
Timmins police say they searched a residence on Pine Street South on Wednesday afternoon and they located a quantity of suspected fentanyl with a street value of around $4,700.
"In this instance, they were found to be in possession of a substance we strongly believe to be fentanyl or carfentanil. We're depending on the analysis to take place shortly to confirm our suspicions." said Marc Depatie, of Timmins Police Service.
They say they've also arrested and charged four local people ranging in ages from 18 to 44 with possession and trafficking.
But what police cannot determine is if the drugs they seized in that bust are linked to three deaths in the city: two Wednesday morning and one Thursday morning.
"In the last two days’ time the Timmins Police Service has investigated three fatalities we believe very strongly that is linked to the illicit use of fentanyl products and a fourth event where officers deployed their naloxone kit, so this rendered some assistance to the person in distress." said Depatie.
Police say whether the overdoses and the drugs seized are connected is part of their investigation.
And they are appealing to people to call them if they have any information.
