Timmins police charged a number of local people Thursday, February 28 in connection to a comprehensive drug investigation.
Enforcement officers arrested six people at a house on Pine Street South, four of them for drug trafficking, and seized over $4,500 in suspected ‘purp’ fentanyl on Thursday afternoon. The suspects range in age from 18 to 44.
Then on Thursday evening, three more people, ranging in age from 18 to 22, were arrested and another $1,500 in suspected ‘purp’ fentanyl was seized along with over $8,000 in cash.
After several recent deaths believed to be caused by illicit drug use in Timmins in the last two days, Timmins Police Service is appealing to the public to report any suspicious people or activity at 705-264-1201 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-22-8477.
