The Ontario Provincial Police in the Temiskaming Shores area say that a Thursday morning crash on Highway 11B in Coleman Township has claimed the life of a local woman.
Police say two people were travelling in a southbound vehicle when it left the road and hit a rock cut.
The driver of the vehicle, a 77-year-old male from Cobalt. suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries, while the passenger of the vehicle, 75-year-old Muriel Champagne, also of cobalt, succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
One lane of Highway 11B was closed for investigation, but has since reopened.
