'Sudbury Rocks' rocks the downtown core once more

After a brief hiatus and a few years of virtual runs due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Sudbury Rocks: Race/Run/Walk Marathon returned Sunday to the downtown core with more than 1,200 people taking part and raising at least 50,000 for the Northern Cancer Foundation.

Hundreds descended on Sudbury's Bell Park Saturday morning in a bid to 'defeat depression." The 10th Annual Defeat Depression Walk was held with funds being raised for the Northern Initiative for Social Action and the Mood Disorders Society of Canada.

Clothes racks, food vendors, art displays and musicians lined Queen Street in Sault Ste. Marie as the Downtown Association held its annual 'Sault's Longest Garage Sale.' The event typically serves as a spring sidewalk sale for downtown businesses.
