2. The Contest sponsor is Bell Media Inc. (hereinafter referred to as the “Contest Sponsor”).

For greater certainty, subject to the Nominee’s age requirement provided above, Nominees who are under the age of majority are eligible to be nominated, participate in the Contest and redeem a Prize provided that the parent or legal guardian of the Nominee accepts the Prize and the terms and conditions hereof for and on behalf of such Nominee. All entries must include (i) the Nominator’s first and last name, relationship to the Nominee, email address and telephone number; (ii) the Nominee’s first and last name, email address or telephone number; (iii) the Nominee’s city of residence; and (iv) a unique and original story (the “Story”) (maximum 500 words in length) describing why the Nominee should be selected as the Weather Star. In order to be eligible, the Story must comply with the Submission Guidelines below. Each Nominator must have the consent of the Nominee’s parent/legal guardian to provide the Nominee’s first and last name, email address, telephone number and city of residence. Limit of one (1) entry per Nominee per Nominator. For clarity, a Nominator may nominate more than one (1) Nominee throughout the Contest Period; however, a Nominator may not nominate the same Nominee more than once throughout the Contest Period. Different Nominators can nominate the same Nominee. If it is discovered that you attempted to exceed the foregoing limit on entries, all your entries will be void. If it is discovered by the Contest Sponsor (using any evidence or other information made available to or otherwise discovered by the Contest Sponsor) that any Nominator has attempted to: (i) exceed the foregoing limit on entries; and/or (ii) use multiple names, identities, email addresses and/or any automated, macro, script, robotic or other system(s) or program(s) to enter or otherwise participate in or to disrupt this Contest, such Nominator may be disqualified from the Contest in the sole and absolute discretion of the Contest Sponsor. An entry may be rejected if (in the sole and absolute discretion of the Contest Sponsor) the entry is not fully completed with all required information and submitted and received in accordance with these Rules during the Contest Period. The Contest Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, misdirected, delayed, incomplete or incompatible entries (all of which are void). All entries are subject to verification at any time and for any reason. The sole determinant of the time for the purposes of this Contest will be the Contest server machine(s). The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to reject and disqualify any entry if they discover that any information provided is either false or fraudulent (as determined by the Contest Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion). The Contest Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any entry that the Contest Sponsor deems not to be in keeping with the policies, goals and/or guiding principles of the Contest, or that the Contest Sponsor learns has been previously published, entered into any other contest, and/or won any other prize/award. Entries shall be deemed to be submitted by the authorized account holder of the Nominator’s email address submitted at the time of entry. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an internet access provider, online service provider, or other organizations (e.g., business, educational institution) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. Illegible entries are ineligible.
5. PRIZES: There are four (4) prizes available to be won (each, a “Prize”), each consisting of an opportunity to visit the CTV Northern Ontario studios in Sudbury, Ontario on March 2, 9, 16 and 23, 2023, and to appear on TV with the CTV News Northern Ontario evening show team to assist in the presentation of the 5:00 p.m. weather forecast. The winner will also receive a CTV swag bag. The approximate retail value of each Prize is $50 CAD. The participation in the weather presentation has no retail value. Limit of one (1) Prize per household. The dates of the visits are based on the Selection Date of each winner, as more fully detailed in Section 7 below.
6. The Prizes will be awarded to the benefit of the Nominee provided in the selected Nominator’s entry. Potential winner is eligible to win a Prize provided that such a potential winner’s parent or legal guardian accepts the Prize terms and conditions hereof for and on behalf of such a potential winner. Prizes must be accepted as awarded. Prizes may not be sold, transferred are not convertible to cash. Contest Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a Prize in whole or in part in the event that all or any component of the Prize is unavailable. Prize winner is solely responsible for all costs not expressly described herein, including, without limitation, transportation to and from the CTV Northern Ontario studios. The number of Prizes available to be won will decrease throughout the Contest as they are awarded.
7. WINNER SELECTION: On February 22, March 1, March 8 and March 15, 2023, at approximately 10:30 a.m. EST (each, a “Selection Date”), a panel of judges appointed by the Contest Sponsor (the “Judges”) will review all eligible entries received up to the point of the applicable Selection Date. Entries received will be retained from one Selection Date to the next. The Judges will assign a score to each entry on the basis of the following equally weighted criteria: (i) creativity of the Story; and (ii) originality of the Story. The Nominee provided in the entry of the Nominator whose Story receives the highest score will be eligible to win a Prize. In the event of a tie, the entry (from among all such entries that are tied) that scored higher on criteria (i) above, i.e., creativity of the Story, will be deemed to have obtained the higher score. The odds of winning a Prize will depend on the number of eligible entries received up to the point of the applicable Selection Date and the calibre of the Stories associated with such entries on the basis of the above judging criteria. Decisions of the Judges are final and binding. Bell Media Inc., acting reasonably, will attempt to contact each potential winning Nominee’s parent or legal guardian by email or by telephone within two (2) business days after the applicable Selection Date. In the event that the potential winner cannot be contacted within two (2) business days after the applicable Selection Date, such potential winner will be disqualified, and the Contest Sponsor shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard, and the Contest Sponsor may select the Nominee provided in the entry of the Nominator whose Story obtained the next highest score as an alternate potential winner at its sole discretion (in which case, the foregoing provisions of this section shall apply to such new potential winner). Proof of identification must be provided upon request.
8. In order to be declared a winner, each potential winner must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question administered by Bell Media Inc. Before being awarded a Prize, the potential winner’s parent or legal guardian will be required to sign and return within the time stipulated by the Contest Sponsor, a full release and indemnity form stating that, among other things, such potential winner has read, understood and complied with these Rules, grants all consents required, agrees to be available and to participate in publicity and/or promotions related to the Contest and/or the Contest Sponsor and/or similar matters, authorizes the Contest Sponsor to broadcast, publish, disseminate and otherwise use potential winner’s name, city/town/village and province/territory of residence, photograph, likeness, sobriquet and voice, in connection with any promotion and/or publicity, and/or for general news, entertainment and/or information purposes at no additional compensation to the potential winner, beyond the awarding of or participation in the Prize, accepts the Prize as offered and releases the Contest Sponsor from any and all liability of any kind arising out of the potential winner’s participation in this Contest and receipt and use of the Prize. In the event that a potential winner does not comply with all the provisions as contemplated in these Rules, Contest Sponsor shall have the right to disqualify the potential winner, and select an alternate potential winner, and the Contest Sponsor shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard. The provisions and procedures referred to above relating to selection and notification of a potential winner shall be applied, with the necessary amendments, until all qualified winners have been duly selected. The number of actual Prizes awarded may be less than the number of available Prizes should efforts to confirm a winner be unsuccessful, in accordance with these Rules.
9. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES. Stories must be original and not include any third party’s proprietary content, including trade-marks or copyrighted content. Contest Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may disqualify any Nominator (and their entry) who uses third party proprietary content, at any time. Contest Sponsor further reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to edit any Story to blur out any trade-marks or to remove any copyrighted content. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing and for greater certainty, Stories may be showcased by Contest Sponsor on a public viewing gallery, including without limitation, on the Contest website. Contest Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any claims against infringement of the right of privacy with respect to any entry. IMPORTANT NOTE: The Contest Sponsor reserves its right to disqualify any Story that violates the rights of a Nominee (as determined by the Contest Sponsor at its sole and absolute discretion) and/or, defames, libels or slanders a Nominee (or any other person).

The sole determinant of the time for the purposes of this Contest will be the Contest server machine(s) and related timekeeping systems of the Contest Sponsor. Broadcast delays may occur, including depending on the means used to listen to the radio (e.g., analog radio vs. online streaming). Contest Sponsor will not be held liable in any way for such delays. No correspondence will be entered into except with entrants requesting Rules by mail or requesting the names of the Prize winners (for which a self-addressed, postage paid envelope must be included). Contest Sponsor does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, seeding or printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof.
