“(On) July 24, Sudbury TIME (Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team) Ontario Provincial Police’s (OPP) charged a 37-year-old driver from Thessalon with speeding,” provincial police said on social media.

“The vehicle was traveling 149 km/h in a posted 110 km/h zone on Highway 69.”

None of the allegations has been proven in court.

Early this year, a survey released by the Canadian Automobile Association showed that 9 in 10 people are deeply concerned about speeders close to home.

“The OPP would like to remind motorists, that stunt driving includes vehicles traveling over 150 km/h, not just 50 km/h over the speed limit,” said police.

“Slow down and drive safe.”
