NORTH BAY -- 22 Wing/Canadian Forces Base North Bay is making a few changes for its military base personnel in light of the recent COVID-19 outbreak.
Effective immediately, the Ayr Mess, the Wing Chapel, the CANEX, and Subway restaurant are closed to the public.
Meanwhile, the following are closed to everyone including military personnel:
The 22 Wing fitness and wellness centre, the Canadian Forces Museum of Aerospace Defence, the daycare centre and North Bay Military Family Resources Centre.
The base is also limiting access to only those who need essential services and families living there.
This builds on steps already announced last week.
"We're continually making sure that we're able to do our mission which is what our focus is," said 22 Wing/CFB Commander Colonel Mark Lachapelle. "As well as making sure that we do everything we can to protect our families and the members of our forces."
Part of the 22 wing's crew will remain at the base, while others will work from other locations.
