As part of the Capreol 100th anniversary celebration, local authors held a book signing Thursday night.

The event was organized by Matthew Del Papa, a Capreol resident who's written seven self-published books about his hometown, including a new one titled 'Capreol At Bat' which talks about the history of softball in the town

"I chose this topic because my grandfather played and I grew up listening to stories about the great old days of Capreol fastball." said Del Papa.

He says Capreol was one of the most dominant softball towns in all of Ontario, winning eight provincial championships in twelve years.
