TIMMINS -- Store windows in Downtown Timmins are awash with a splash of hope.

In partnership with the Business Improvement Area, a group of artists used closed business storefronts as their canvases to share messages of positivity and solidarity during this time of COVID-19.

Despite businesses being closed downtown due to the pandemic, officials want everyone to remember, they're still there and encourage people to visit the area and see what ten artists have created.

Work began yesterday and most of the windows at major intersections are covered, along with many other well-known favourites.

"By doing this project [...] we can bring some new life, new beginning, new hope Downtown to our businesses here and I think is a great idea." says Dale Morrish, owner of Artsie.

This is a developing story.  More to come.
