SAULT STE. MARIE – In Sault Ste. Marie, toys and live bands are the two key ingredients for the annual Toystock Rock the Cause event.

10 bands in the Sault are performing for 10 hours straight while trying to collect as many toys as possible to give away this holiday season.

Admission to the rock show is a non-perishable food item or a new or slightly used toy.

Everything will be given to families in need over the next couple of weeks.

"It started kind of in a bar setting and it’s growing from there. Kids actually started showing to the shows, so it wasn't just us musicians kind of hanging out and doing food for the community. It started becoming a real big community event," explained Greg Simpson, Toystock Organizer.

This year, Toystock added three donation bins around the city so people who couldn't attend still had the opportunity to support the cause.
