The North Bay and Parry Sound District Health Unit is warning people of confirmed cases of whooping cough in Powassan and surrounding areas.
Health officials urging residents to check that all vaccinations are up to date especially for children.
Officials say whooping cough can be dangerous and, in severe cases, fatal.
Early symptoms include sneezing, runny nose, low fever, and a mild cough that gets worse over two weeks.
The Health Unit says anyone developing signs is encouraged to see a doctor.
